Robyn is a practicing Welsh artist currently living and teaching in London. She gained her BA (HONS) at the University of South Wales in 2013 and her MA in illustration from Camberwell College of Art in 2023.

 

Inspired by her home town in South Wales, where industry and ruin intertwine, Robyn's work aims to evoke feelings of hiraeth through documenting and preserving Welsh folklore, myths and  traditions through the medium of silent books, printmaking and mixed media works.

 

The intention of her work is to reflect on the power of cultural stories, and preserve them through iteration and adaptation. For the past year Robyn has developed her newest book and set of prints which draws its focus on the Mari Lwyd, one of many equine rituals practiced across the UK. Robyn's  aim is to document both vanished customs and surviving traditions
